Maritime Provinces 2007 - Travel Home to Michigan

These flags designated the border of Nova Scotia and New Brunswick.
We drove off of Route 2 into Moncton, New Brunswick to buy diesel fuel for the truck. The spirit of car lovers was alive and well in Moncton. We had arrived during their car cruise. We really felt like we were home already.
Just like home, people lined the cruise route to see the car and trucks - custom and hot rods.
For those of you who do not know, we live in the Detroit area. This is where the annual Woodward Dream Cruise is held each August. If you would like to see what our WDC is like, we have a lot of photographs on our Woodward Dream Cruise page.
It is not always practical or safe to stop the truck for all sights we want to photograph. So, we make some of our photographs from the truck as we drive the highways and byways. The following photographs are posted to show the beauty of the areas we see.
As we approached Saint John, New Brunswick, the fog was getting thick. When we finally stopped for the night in a pull-off about 45 miles from the USA border, it was like soup.
In the morning. the air was so full of water particles, they reflected back when the flash on the camera fired. The people resting in a car in the pull-off with us last night were already gone. But, a trucker had pulled in overnight. The fog was as bad for our morning drive as it was the night before.
The USA border was a nice sight.
Images from Maine and beyond . . .
This is the gold dome on the capital building in Montpelier, Vermont.
Views approaching Crown Pointe, New York . . .
This is Lake George in New York where the tour boat tragedy occurred in 2005. The boat in the photograph looks something like the tour boat that flipped over.
We were asked to leave a shopping center parking lot in Utica, New York about 12:30am. We ran the gauntlet of orange barrels on the New York Thruway to the first service plaza.
The view from the Blue Water bridge between Sarnia and Port Huron was beautiful. However, we had to wait in line over an hour to cross the border into the USA.
We hoped the approaching storm and the speed we were driving would clean off a majority of the bugs clinging to the front of our fifth wheel. Unfortunately, the storm missed us.
We enjoyed our visit to the Maritime Providences. We saw and experience many beautiful sites and interesting attractions. If you have not visited the Maritime Providences, we encourage you to include them in your future travel plans.
