We visited Rhode Island so we could add it to our list of states we have camped in. It was not on the tour.

We spent one day enjoying Rhode Island's beautiful coastline and interior. We found the road signage leaving something to be desired. Trying to follow their route 'Scenic 1A' was a real challenge. Maybe that is why their speed limits are so low.

Narragansett Beach was a very busy place. The wind surfers were plentiful and so were the spectators.

The state of Rhode Island provides several state beaches. We visited several. Because it was the off-season, there were no crowds or fee takers. We can only imagine how busy they would be during the summer.

If you look real hard just past the surf, you can see fish jumping. This fisherman was trying to cast his lure into them. He had trouble casting that far and could not go into the water farther because the surf was so strong.
