Fall Trip - 2018 . . . Photos made along the Road

Updated: 05/09/19

The following are photographs made as we traveled between our destinations and during day trips from our campground at a destination. The photographs are in no particular order and no particular subject within the state category.

Don't miss the photographs of the Detroit Diesel Hot Rod.

Our visit to Young's Lobster Pound and the Belfast, Maine area may be interesting as well.

Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York . . .

Providing places to pull off the road to safely use your phone were common . . .

New York . . .

The was the first time we had seen
a fifth wheel with a slideout in a
slideout.

Subway cars . . .

Beautiful hills . . .

This was quite a steep climb to get to this campground. We were on "top of the mountain".

Knowing we were not leaving the
site to tour the area, we pulled up
only far enough to drop the pin to
level the fifth wheel.

New York , Vermont . . .

Runaway truck ramps are common
in the mountains.

We turn down the road to our campground at a corner where the
power station and solar field was located.

Vermont, New Hampshire . . .

The river in this photo comes from the falls.

Sometimes we had to park our HH
and walk back to the photo-op location -
like the dam at Fifteen Mile Falls.

Beautiful custom car and beautiful sunset.

New Hampshire . . .

Looking across the road from our campground . . .

The campground had a big tent for use by RV Tour operators . . .

New Hampshire, Maine . . .

Welcome to Maine and road work . . .

A house with a chopped off corner . . . and . . . a stone church.

Sure enough road work . . . however, traffic slowed right by a station with a good price for diesel fuel.

A huge solar field . . .

Maine . . .

Young's Lobster Pound . . . Belfast, Maine

From their parking lot . . .

Downstairs at ground level is the 'smelly' lobster and crab market. It was also wet as they pumped water into the tubs to keep their product alive.

Upstairs and outside on a balcony were picnic tables. We ate upstairs - for the experience. However, in our opinion, the food was not the greatest and overpriced compared to other places we ate in Maine.

                                                                                                                        Another lobster trap like the
one we have in our yard at home.

As we pull out of the street leading
from Young's, the house across the
street was flying a flag Scott would like.

We continued our 'all day tour' of the Belfast, Camden, Rockland area. These photographs are taken in Clam Cove.

Yes, unique vehicles are always a photo-op.

We found a neat roadside park. Traveling with just the truck,
we turned in for the view not worrying if it had an outlet - it didn't.

More Maine . . .

A little foggy . . .

Bath Shipyard . . .

We had just parked when we recognized the displays in front of the museum. We were there
several years ago.

Of course, we flashed back to the tragedy in Sandy Hook, Connecticut . . .

We missed major construction
delays around NYC.
It was below use here.

Our GPS and paper maps were
invaluable during our trip . . .

The only thing we could think of for this
horizontal fence - to catch jumpers. (?)

There were a lot of bridges in the NYC/New Jersey area . . .

The New York City skyline and car storage lot . . .

Fence in falling rock area . . .  Glad we aren't on that side . . . During heavy traffic you can drive on the shoulder . . .

Off the Interstates and divided highways and into the city . . .

We drove under this low trestle a couple times. The first time we were
a little concerned about low cleared. All was well, we still have our A/C.

Our fifth wheel was a 'little' dirty at the end of our trip. Fortunately, we were able to take advantage of a fairly warm day to scrub the nose.
