Michigan Mini - 2019 . . . St Louis, MI
Updated: 08/25/19
Our MICHIGAN MINIs have been really laid back events the last several years. It is an opportunity for our members to catch up and relax from hectic schedules or from easy schedules. Visiting several restaurants (at least once each) is mandatory - they have been well tested so we are regulars during the week we are here. A list of available activities and events in the area was provided - it is not required that members spend all their time in camp as a group. On the 'free day' or any day our members can wander at will.
The daily schedule suggested games at 2:00pm, social hour at 4:00pm, games again at 7:00pm and a campfire at 8:00pm. Please note the word 'suggested'.
To accommodate members who had doctor, dentist and other commitments, we made TWO group photographs one mid-afternoon, one in the evening. If you are so inclined, compare the two photographs to see who is "in" or "out" of each photograph.
Our gathering is officially Sunday through Friday to avoid crowds and weekend rates.

SUNDAY MONDAY TUESDAY WEDNESDAY THURSDAY FRIDAY
SUNDAY . . .
"First Night Potluck" . . . this proves we do not always eat out.
Dinner was followed by a planning meeting, we discussed the expectations of the group and came to consensus on our events schedule. This week is about opportunities - nothing mandatory.
MONDAY . . . most of the guys went out to breakfast every morning - most of the time simply to McDonald's in town.
Today you have another possible search game.

Our conversation with our day visitors was interrupted with lunch at The Hearthstone Oven. We made sure we ate here today because it is one of our visitors favorites.
Then, back to St. Louis to continue the conversations.
If you looked closely, you would have seen that Greg, Judy,
Ron and Roberta
visited for a few hours today. It was nice seeing them.
As we left the restaurant, we noticed a gray colored wind turbine. No one in our truck had ever seen a gray wind turbine.
Well, we did NOT see a gray wind turbine. We resolved the anomaly during our evening gathering.
Watch the affect of the sun and clouds on the color.
TUESDAY . . .
Gary arranged for our group to tour a DTE operated wind turbine farm.
Because we feel the information about the wind turbine will be of interest to others who visit our Web site, we have posted that information on its own page.
Follow the link below to that page.
We will provide links to return you to this
location so
you can continue sharing
our Michigan Mini - 2019 event.
This photograph was made using a 'panoramic' setting on our
guides camera.
A sixth grade student gave him the suggested camera setting.
Of course, we had lunch at the Anschutz Cafe in Breckenridge before going back to camp.

WEDNESDAY . . .
Free day ... Nothing planned after the breakfast. Today both the women and men had breakfast out. This was 'pie breakfast' for the women.

Some members enjoyed a campfire and were joined by others after the games.
FRIDAY . . .
Fred celebrated the FINAL day of the 7:30am breakfast with the guys. While enjoyable - it is too early.
But, Harold had nothing to celebrate - a stripped gear.
When you pull in your slideout to leave and it says "NO, I
won't move".
That is bad.
Ron, Tom L. and Gary were quick to offer a helping hand.
Ron had a spare gear assembly ... but ... even with only one year difference in model years, it would not fit Harold's HitchHiker.
A full staff of supervisors
was available . . .
Not finding a gear locally, one was ordered and the slideout
pushed in manually to be repaired next week.
We think everyone had a great time at the Michigan Mini - 2019. Our usual attempt to support the local economy, especially the restaurants, was successful.
Our thanks to all who helped in many ways to make our M&M fun.
