This year we had 19 RVs and 41 people at our annual Chapter 52 campout. The number in attendance varies each year but is not a measure of the fun and fellowship we experience. We can enjoy ourselves with a large or small group.

TUESDAY        WEDNESDAY        THURSDAY        FRIDAY        SATURDAY        Lucy and Cliff

TUESDAY . . .

We started off the campout with a game of bean bag baseball. It is always a popular activity

Hot dogs, provided by Liz and Charlie, with buns, Coney sauce and other toppings, provided by our members, refreshed the strength of the players. Side dishes were also provided by our members. And, we can't forget the donated desserts.

A phenomenon has hit Chapter 52 . . . Penny Bingo.

Ken was patient waiting for
the players to settle down and
gather their 111 pennies.

Of course, any game needs spectators to cheer on the players.

They don't seem enthusiastic!

WEDNESDAY . . .

Today was a "free" day . . .

. . . until 8:00pm.

Then, ice cream and toppings provided by Sherry and Jocko were served. The line formed for the ice cream and toppings.

Throughout the weekend there was time for just 'hanging around' with other chapter members. Today was no exception. Here, after finishing their ice cream, the ice cream social turned into a 'hanging around/conversation time', solving a lot of the world's problems.

THURSDAY . . .

The croquet game was scratched today because a large enough grassy area for the game was not located. Kathy decided we would have a men against the women beanbag baseball game.

Because the adults were getting tired picking up the beanbags after they were tossed towards the beanbag targets, Moira volunteered to assist.  She not only picked up the beanbags, she handed them to the player up to 'bat'. She was a big help.

In addition, she took her place on the women's team when it was her turn.

Time was available for a game of Mexican train and important conversations.

A fish fry was dinner tonight.    Yum!    Yum!

Otto was the chef.                             Bud was the 'lid man'.

The sides everyone provided completed the meal.
Our members are very good at supporting our main course with delicious sides.

Our fish fry would not have taken place without the generosity of our fisherman. He provided enough fish for everyone. Thank you - Jerry.

As fast at Otto could cook the fish, Joan was serving it.

Timberland had great WiFi throughout the campground.

Repeater antennas performed well.

Another game of Penny Bingo . . .

FRIDAY . . .

Another free day . . . except for evening musical entertainment.

We enjoy the talents shared with us during some campout evenings.

The venue . . . Bonny and Bud's site. It was the gathering location for all events.

Thanks for your hospitality.

To replace Lucy's traditional machine
popped popcorn, Mary arranged
a microwave popcorn event with
several microwaves used.

The audience . . .

The musicians . . .

Al                                                                  Mick                                                           Larry

We think this was the first time an ice cream truck cruised through a campground we were using. They had a large number of potential customers in a relatively small area.

Our home away from home.

SATURDAY . . .

BINGO - White Elephant Bingo, that is.

Every year people bring their treasures to 'pawn off' on their chapter friends.

Sometimes we see the same item again and again and again.

Jim does most of the calling.

This was a HOT day. Mary Lou and I played from our chairs using a picnic table seat as a table - in a breeze.

Mary won the last 'throw' that Lucy made as a Bingo 'cover-all' prize.

Pizza party everyone . . .

Paul and Ken picked up the pizzas.

Sherry and Kathy served the pizza.

Some people brought a side to share.

It was goooood.

After everyone had their three pieces,
the announced leftovers didn't last long.

Prizes for beanbag baseball were awarded to the winning athletes.

Sherry and Liz handled the awards.

Penny bingo closed out the evening.

Thanks to Kathy (our Wagonmaster), for all her work during the campout to keep us engaged in the fun and fellowship.

She had several 'worker bees' helping her. To all who assisted in making the campout a success - a BIG thank you.

Lucy and Cliff . . .

It was very obvious at the campout that two people were missing - Lucy and Cliff. They have been fixtures in Michigan Members-At-Large Chapter 52 for YEARS. They worked tirelessly in the open and behind the scenes. Lucy and Cliff 'retired' this year after many many years of service.

Lucy sent the chapter photo albums to the campout. They include a collection of photographic memories of Chapter 52 activities. Members were told they could remove and keep any photographs they wanted from the albums. Members will forever remember Lucy and Cliff's contributions to our chapter and therefore to Michigan Good Sam organization.

We appreciated their daily Facebook greetings and comments during this years campout.

THANK YOU for all you have done for our chapter.
