Our campouts include the first FULL weekend of August each year. As usual, many arrived on Monday. The campout officially begins on Thursday but frequently 'informal' things occur earlier ... this year on Wednesday.

Throughout the weekend, you will note that we eat well, play easy games and converse often.

This year we had 24 RVs in camp. Every year we have some day visitors.

So, lets take a look at our 2015 campout.

 Wednesday . . .       Thursday . . .        Friday . . .        Saturday . . .

Wednesday . . .

We were treated to a pancake breakfast this morning.

Our hosts were up early preparing. They were ready to cook when we arrived.

Judy was a sit down cook ... Bonnie blinked or was tired ... Joan 's griddle was full.

You will notice that Chuck and Jerry
supervised from a close distance while
Bud supervised from afar.

At 9:00am the joyful pancake eaters arrived with a plate, silverware and a cup in hand. Oh, and empty stomachs.

Mick showed up with his favorite
(colorful, to say the least) hat.

We rested the remainder of the day to conserve our energy for the 5:00pm 'Potato Bar' dinner. Lucy, Cliff, Jim and Nettie provided the baked potatoes. Everyone brought 'toppings' of all kinds for the potatoes and 'go-with' dishes.

Of course, we all arrived at the appointed time. Hungry again.

Yummy.
This may be repeated again next year.

Chapter 52 is fortunate to have a number of talented musicians willing to share their abilities with us. We look forward to the evening entertainment.

Lucy pops popcorn for the crowd.
(It had been a couple hours since we ate.)

Thursday . . .

One of the most popular game we play is Bean Bag Baseball. It draws the most competitive among us ... and ... just those who seek fun.

The men against the women ...

Then, a mixed league competition ...

The competition heated up as the bases were loaded - twice.

Four other games drew attention:

Washer toss ... Bean Bag toss ... Tennis Ball in a bucket pitch ... Cookie Stacking

Fred claimed he would have won the
cookie stacking 'run-off' game
... but ... he ran out of cookies.

The 5:00pm Hot Dog Roast was sponsored by Lucy, Cliff, Jim and Nettie. The hotdogs were supplemented by everyone bringing a dish to share - a side or a dessert.

It is unclear if the hotdogs grilled by Paul and Chuck in the cowboy hats were different than those grilled by Bud in a baseball cap.

All beef?

Ballpark franks?

Go-withs and desserts ...

The dinner bell rang and we came . . .

Again, our talented musicians provide the evening's entertainment.

Ralph (guitar and mandolin), Mary (auto harp), Mick (guitar), Al (harmonica and fiddle)

Nettie and Jim under their awning ... What! At least two people using phones ... Lucy and Cliff on popcorn duty.

Mary wanted a fire tonight. It was a nice ending to a beautiful day.

Friday . . .

First thing on the schedule today . . . skit planning for the MGS Rally in Harrison. (A lesson learned: Some of those who did not attend were assigned 'non-speaking' parts.)

Because Camp Cadillac did not have enough full-hookups in one area of the campground, our chapter was split into two groups. It is unknown which of the two groups were the 'outcasts' ... maybe neither. Both seemed happy and showed up for the activities. We visited the 'other group' a couple times just to make sure they were not talking about us.

Euchre is now on our games list. It was requested a few year ago.

Tonight, Mick was our only musician. He handled the solo performance well.

Saturday . . .

This morning Kathy and Paul managed our Croquette Tournament. It is another popular game for players and spectators. This year we had four groups of players and a final round to determine the over-all winner. The final round was held after the Saturday mini-meeting.

A Mini-Meeting was held prior to the potluck because the Campground had activities scheduled in the pavilion following our potluck.

Interesting that the owners felt they had priority. (They were really very cooperative and pleasant to work with. Our thanks to the campground staff.)

Lucy, our President, reminded us that Chapter 52 was host chapter at Harrison in September. Come prepared to volunteer - set-up, during the rally and clean-up.

Kathy, our Wagonmaster, announced the 2016 Chapter 52 Camp-out will be at  Covenant Hills Campground, in Otisville.

Prizes were awarded to the winning players of the various games.

Bean Bag Baseball - Men's Division

Bean Bag Baseball - Mixed Division

               Euchre Winners

Everyone looks forward to our White Elephant Bingo game as a way to unload unwanted stuff. Or, as an opportunity to share some of their treasurers with other chapter members. Depending on the item, it could go either way. But, it is always fun.

Lucy always makes a decorative throw
as the prize for the final card coverall.

The Croquette Tournament resumed with the FINAL ROUND.

Somehow, Chuck got so far ahead of the others, he just watched them play ... way over there.

But, Mick was fast approaching. He almost caught Chuck.

At the end, Chuck was #1.

We had our Saturday Night Potluck Dinner following the croquette finals. (The game had to be completed.)

Food table . . .

Dessert table . . .

Eating tables . . .

Because it was India's birthday, Lucy had her draw the winning ticket.

Tonight, our musicians changed the location of the performance. It was in the same campsite. However, they "always" play at the side of Mick and Mary's fifth wheel. Well. we can't say "always" anymore. To avoid the setting sun shinning in their faces during the first half of the performance, they moved 90-degrees to stage left. Really disorienting for those of us usually in a 'rut'.

A couple nights we had an enthusiastic Moira delivering candy and popcorn to members of the crowd.

The audience turned their chairs to face the new location.

Al and Sandy sent their dog to get the truck. He waited a while and finally gave them that, 'it is time to go' look.

We had a great time at this year's Chapter 52 campout. Whoever was in charge of weather deserves a medal - the weather was perfect. The board and the volunteers who assisted made it totally enjoyable for all.
